Scoliosis Dress

Utilizing a 190 cm mannequin as a canvas, I curated a piece that is meant to challenge perceptions around illness and disabilities. This project was inspired by the idea that medical attire with its mundane and sterile embodiment, can be transformed to aid the healing process by allowing a sense of expression. This creation is meant to be an example of haute couture, a visual experience not meant to adorn the body. As the fusion of fabrics and metal frame for scoliosis drilled into the frame. It embodies a powerful message: embracing flaws can foster a sense of beauty and dignity, infusing grace into the experience of medical treatment. It aspires to redefine hospital wear, infusing elegance and dignity into the lives of long-term patients, fostering an environment of healing and joy amidst the struggles of illness.
